Growing up, my mom always reminded me to drink milk since I still had a lot of growing to do. Well, I don’t think the milk helped much because I reached 5’2 around 6th grade and that was it for me. How did I go from being one of the tallest to one of the shortest in the span of one year?! I used to think that being short was a bad thing, but I’ve really come to embrace and own my short stature. If you think about it, there are a lot of pros to being petite! For one, my legs don’t get as cramped on a plane and two, I can wear any heels I want and still be shorter than potential dates.
Yes, being petite definitely has its perks, but it can also pose problems when shopping for clothes. A lot of my favorite stores don’t have a petite section so the trendy “cropped” jeans are just jeans, jacket sleeves go way past the wrist, and the cute mini skirt? Not so mini when it falls just above your knees.
If you’re a petite gal and have experienced some of the same struggles, you need to check out Petite Studio – a womenswear brand created by and made for petites. I’m floored by their current collection and continue to be amazed by each new arrival. They offer the perfect mix of on-trend pieces and classic staples, but the biggest thing to take away from here is their quality. Quality in their clothes, ethics, and overall genuineness (check out their Christmas Toy Drive here).
I’m wearing the Staten Light Tan Coat here and fell in love with the minimalist design and the touch of elegance with the draped lapels. I love that I can easily style the coat for a casual or dressy look, and the beautiful light tan color matches with everything! I went for more of a casual outfit with this striped navy blouse and navy pinstripe trousers. For the shoes, I’m wearing nude bow flats, but I think white sneakers would’ve also looked great for this look!
